Experience a Diving Paradise at Maldives Dive Resorts
The Maldives is a nation made up of a number of small islands grouped into 26 atolls in the Indian Ocean. These beautiful islands are host to white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. When scuba diving amongst the islands of the Maldives, you’ll be treated to channels with underwater caves, caverns, overhangs adorned with colourful sponges and soft coral, invertebrates and gorgonian fans. Because the waters of the area are so rich with nutrients, this sustains and attracts abundant marine life to the area, making the area such a treasure for divers.
Dive Among the Rich Marine Life of the Maldive Islands
Generally, scuba diving in Maldives can occur all year round, however the best season to visit is between December and May, where the water is calmest and water temperatures sit around 26 to 29 degrees Celsius.
The Maldives can be grouped into three atolls: the northern, central and southern atolls, each offering their own unique dive sights and experiences. At the southern Ari Atoll, you will be rewarded with big fish sightings such as whale sharks, hammerheads, eagle rays, reef sharks and more, with cleaning stations for manta rays.
In the northern atolls are Baa Atoll, where you will witness the Manta Ray at Hanifaru Bay, the firs UNESCO Biosphere reserve in the Maldives, as well as Noono Atoll and Raa Atoll, with more marine wildlife.
Rasdhoo Atoll is a central known for its schools of dolphins and hammerhead sharks, among other marine life such as grouper, parrotfish and manta rays.
There’s something for everyone when it comes to diving in Maldives.
