Liveaboard in paradise

For those looking to explore Komodo National Park, there are a wealth of choices in your liveaboard holiday. However long you’re planning on staying and whatever kind of budget you have, there’s a vessel for you. Largely you’ll have a choice between sailboats and steel-hulled yachts, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Gaff-rigged Phinisi sailboats like the Indo Siren and the Arenui offer classical grace and comfort but can be somewhat noisy, while quick and stable steel-hulled yachts like the MV Gaia Love and the Mermaid offer a smoother ride, perfect for anyone prone to seasickness. These boats split thire time between Komodo and Raja Ampat, but some remain in Komodo year-round.

BEST TIME TO GO

The best time to dive in Komodo is from April to August, offering the most choice in terms of liveaboards. This also coincides with the dry season and the period of coldest sea temperatures, offering great visibility and the best pelagic action. However, Komodo is a gem year-round.
